PIVOT Assessment Pack

(1) The PIVOT Assessment Pack will aim to evaluate the effectiveness of the PIVOT education programme on students’ active participation and language development. It will consist of the following parts:

– a teacher rating scale for assessing students’ active participation to be completed as a pre- and post-test measure;- a student oral language assessment tool to be completed as a pre- and post-test measure;

– a social acceptability assessment tool for teachers, families, and students to be completed as a post-test measure;- an implementation integrity assessment instrument to progress monitor the programme’s quality of implementation;- a set of interview protocols for exploring teachers’ and students’ views and experiences about the goals, procedures and expected outcomes of the programme.

 

(2) It will also collect data on students’ demographic characteristics pertaining to ethnic and religious background, socioeconomic status and disabilities so that the subgroup of our students with diverse learning needs will be identified

 

(3) It will conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine the effectiveness of the programme on students and teachers and develop the ‘Administration Guide of the PIVOT Assessment Pack’ as an open access, stand-alone toolkit to be used beyond the end of the project
